Freedom Church is a Jesus-centered community in New York City for people exploring faith, rebuilding it, or learning how to live it out in everyday life. We gather to know Jesus, practice following Him, and grow together—honestly and without pressure.

We’re for everyone—no one is a project here, and no one is expected to have it all together. You’re welcome to come as you are, ask honest questions, and move at your own pace.
WHEN & WHERE?
We gather Sunday nights at 6:00 PM at the German Lutheran Church of St. Paul in Chelsea. The space is easily accessible by subway, and you’re welcome to arrive a few minutes early or right on time.

Our faith is grounded in historic Christianity, shaped by the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds and centered on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We hold the Bible as our authoritative guide for belief and practice. As part of the Assemblies of God, we stand in the Pentecostal tradition, believing the Holy Spirit is active today in transforming lives and empowering people to love and serve others.

Pastor Colin and Sio are leading Freedom Church because of their heart to see people follow Jesus. They believe faith should be lived in real relationships, rooted in emotional health, and expressed through tangible service. Their vision is a church that earns trust by loving the city well.

Nope! Freedom Church is for anyone curious about Jesus, exploring faith, or just looking for a community. You don’t need to believe everything—or anything—before you come.

Not at all. We never pressure anyone to give. If you do decide to support the church financially, it’s completely voluntary.

That’s totally fine. Our gatherings are designed for people at every level of knowledge. We explain things clearly, encourage questions, and create space to learn at your own pace.

We welcome people of all backgrounds and experiences, including those who identify as LGBTQ+. Everyone is invited to worship, belong to community, ask honest questions, and explore faith with us.
As a church, we believe Jesus shapes every area of life, including how we understand sexuality and relationships. Our teaching reflects historic Christian beliefs about marriage and discipleship, and those beliefs guide expectations for leadership and teaching roles within the church.
We are committed to treating every person with dignity, respect, and love, and we do not exclude people from participation in church life based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

We’re multi-generational! People of all ages are welcome—from young adults to grandparents. Everyone contributes to the community in different ways.

We love kids and families. Beginning in September, we’re planning to launch a full elementary-aged kids experience designed to be safe, fun, and spiritually engaging. In the meantime, children are absolutely welcome in our services, and we have a designated area available for kids to play, color, and participate alongside the accompaniment of their parents or guardians.
